Get ready...CELEBRAT!ON '08 is returning to the Bay Area, offering an array of educational and engaging festivities for all ages!
Themed "...from Cracker to Flapper!" the week of events is certain to bring alive our region’s 50 boomtown tales (circa 1875-1925) and herald Tampa's earliest years of explosive growth. The entire week will be awash in engaging programs and activities that range from living history performances to art gallery openings to flapper movies—fun for all ages!

Last year, CELEBRAT!ON '06 kicked off the first Saturday at the Florida State Fairgrounds with a Cracker Country afternoon festival in Hillsborough County; it wound down the following Saturday at a vintage car show in Pinellas County. But those were just two fun, learning-packed days of a week brimming with adventures for heritage-minded families across the region. What's more, each year, the local CELEBRAT!ON festival takes place during the last week of the state-wide Florida Heritage Month . And naturally, “reclaimed” stories of The Tampa Daily Times and other vintage newspapers are woven throughout—ideally inspiring an interest in joining the search to reclaim more!
Suffice to say, CELEBRAT!ON ’08 festivities are certain to crack with cowboy whips and flash with swing dance sparkle. As the excitement builds, there are many ways to become involved…
